World Wide Traders Watch and Collectibles Shows Many of the members of NAWCC (National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors Association - www.nawcc.org/.) have become members of WWT. The former is an horological association that because of its tax free status can only allow watch, clock and related items to be purchased, sold or traded at their shows. Since many of us NAWCC members sell antiques, jewelry and other related items besides watches and clock, their arose a need for an organization which would encompass the purchase, sale or trading of all of these items at a reasonable price with no expensive membership fees so we formed World Wide Traders (WWT) which now has become one of the fastest growing trade shows. Some of our shows proceed the NAWCC shows and we encourage all to stay for the NAWCC shows as much can be learned there as well as opportunity to meet so many new members and find other collectibles, supplies and parts. |

When we started the Wrist and pocket watch traders would arrive early to the watch shows and try to buy watches from the people arriving early to the watch shows (always hoping to find the little old man with a Rolex or Patek on his wrist that he would sell cheap). Other traders would bring their watches and jewelry to the lobby of the hotels where the shows were being held and display their items. Hotel management did not approve and would eject the traders; however, they would again "open for business" in another part of the hotel and again they would be ejected by the hotel management. This scene would repeat itself endlessly. Thus the need to organize this pre-wrist and pocket watch show madness, and so WWT was formed. A room was rented in the hotel where the show was being held, security and safes were arranged and membership cards were issued with photo identification, so as to keep out the crooks and the not so serious. Today our membership has grown so fast that we must now rent much larger rooms, provide armed security and rental table-top showcases as well as security safes as we continue to bring together buyers, sellers and traders and advance the knowledge of horology to our members.
